Eric's Aunt's House

Eric looked at her curiously, with an eyebrow raised, with some humor glinting in his eyes and a faint smile on his lips. Once she asked the question, though, he replied. "Good. I wish life has been exciting, but I guess that wish came true, look now!"

"Yeah, you're right! But every time you wish life were more exciting, things pop up, don't they?"

"Yep! Life's pretty exciting, though. Being an auror's assistant pays off for that."

Selia just kept sipping her glass of champagne in between talking to everyone.

Jake joined Selia, slipping his arm around her shoulders. He was super happy about this all.

"Jake! This is great, all the dancing, and the champagne.. And now we're married! This is just.. It's all great. When you said your mum had bad taste, were you just outright lying, or did you really think she did?" Selia was smiling too- it seemed impossible not to smile.

"I think I was lying." Jake laughed. "I need to get used to it- and so do you. She's your mother in law now!"

"She's my mother in law.." Selia's eyes widened. "That means your-- Gran-- Crazy--" She kept skipping around, and then she burst out laughing at herself. "I was trying to say, I'm related to your crazy grandpa now."

Jake frowned. "I haven't seen him lately..." he sighed. "Probably off doing stupid stuff."

"Hey, he called me a lovely lady, that one time. Plus, he had abs." Selia grinned, in a slightly demented way. "Anyone with a tight abdomen is just fine in my book."

"He's ninety eight years old, Selia. I think that'd be considered molesting."

"Oh, come on, you don't really think I'd cheat on you with your grandpa, do you? That's disgusting. He's too wrinkly for my tastes. Besides, your abs are completely sufficient."

The song ended. Eric stepped away from Holly. "That was fun," he said happily, smiling a friendly smile to her. He put his hands into the pockets of his tuxedo jacket, but there was no point considering how the sleeves hid most of his hands.

Jake grinned mellowly. "Awwesome. Hey now that we're married, I can't wait to make kids with you." he said bluntly.

"Oh." Selia blushed a little bit, but quickly had a thought. "I agree, but shouldn't we wait until our finances are completely stable? I want to open a candy shop, you know. Until I make that jump from worker to employer, and you get a job, if you want one, I don't think it would be very.. very fair to the child, if we had one. We just don't have enough money. Babies need cribs, and food, once they stop breastfeeding, and they need toys, and books, and clothes, and doctors charge money, you know. So, I think we should wait a little bit. If that's alright."

"Right. I'll get a job! As the street-sweeper! Just kidding. I'll try to get a job at a bank or the ministry."

"Alright. Thanks.. So. What's the first thing you want to do when we get to the Virgin Islands? I think we should go swimming. Or surfboarding. Or maybe, some snorkeling? We'll probably be tired when we first get there, though. I booked us a whole week there! It's out of my store fund, though.."

"That's fine, We share money- I've got a bunch of savings from my side... Umm, we should go snorkeling! Then surfing!"

"Okay!" Selia smiled. "I'd better go talk to more people. Some of them might leave, I'll say goodbye, if you don't want to."

Holly and Eric continued talking on and on and on about something as they danced. Holly had kind of forgotten she was at a wedding, as all of her attention was focused on Eric.

Jake smiled. "No, there's the big dinner after this, right?"

Eric laughed at something funny Holly said. "You know, it's been a while since we've talked together."

"Well, then, I won't have to say goodbye to anyone. You know, I can't wait to have kids either. I'm excited about all of this. Do you think we should go cut the cake now?

"YES!"

So they went and cut the cake and partied some more. <3


Eventually, it was getting late. Selia stood up and tapped a spoon against a glass. "Hi, everybody." She said as soon as it was quiet. "Well, thank you so much for coming and participating in this wedding- our wedding- and I'm sure Eric's dear auntie here will accommodate you for a bit longer, but if we stay any longer, we'll miss our flight. So, goodbye!"
Serenity rushed up, quite drunk, and hugged her sister. "Congrats! I'll see you after the honeymoon, okay?" She kissed Selia on the cheek, then bustled off to get another glass of champagne before someone took it away.
