Eric's Aunt's House

Selia Rosensteel was sitting on the half sand, half rock beach, having a great time. She was near her friends, getting a great tan, laughing, swimming, it was the summer everybody dreamed of. Her hair was tied in blonde and brown streaked pigtails, and Selia wasn't wearing anything but a small white bikini and some retro-looking sunglasses perched on top of her head. She was currently splashing her feet in a small puddle.

Jake, who had brought his muggle toy thing called a surfboard, was sitting on the board in the waves, just staring at the horizon. There weren't any waves coming.

Eric came out and yelled after Jake-
"Didn't I tell you that there never are any waves around here?!"

Jake didn't seem to hear him, though, he had dove under the water as if seeing something shiny.

Holly was sitting on the sand next to Selia, propping herself up on her elbows, head tilted towards the sun, eyes closed. She felt calm, relaxed, and at ease--like nothing could go wrong this summer. She was already starting to tan, and she was wearing a plain white bikini with red polka-dots. Her hair was tied back in a high pigtail, and little strands framed her face.

Fry appeared next to Eric and pointed back at the house. "Is it true we all have to share a room?"

Eric frowned. "Yeah, sort of! The girls share, and we share. Sorry, you have to sleep in the same room as my aunt. She snores like a man."

Fry smirked. "Hah, that should be funny!"


Jake swam back and ran over to Eric. "Dude, the waves are so... I really wanted to learn surfing..."

Eric blinked a few times. "You don't know how to surf?" When Jake shook his head, Eric turned to Fry and shrugged. Fry looked slightly confused too, but then walked to a spot under the sun and plopped down to his knees.

"This is great.." Selia mumble/whispered to Holly. "And we've got eye candy. I still dunno why you like Fry so much, but Jake's pretty hot.." She laughed. "Well, this is perfect anyways. I'm going to stay here all summer!"

"Eww, Jake? What the hell is wrong with you? He's SUCH a pervert." Holly still hadn't forgiven him for what had happened over the school year, and was a bit hesitant about going to Eric's aunt's house because Jake was gonna be there.

"No, Holly, he's not really like that. I've been talking to him a lot lately and he's really nice. Try to be nice to him, okay?"

Eric and Fry began arguing about how water there aren't dolphins in the water around the house.

"How do you know?! You've never been here, how do you know I haven't seen one in the area!?" Eric snapped.

"Because, they don't live around here- it's too cold!" Fry replied simply.

"Oh?! Really? Well, I tell you, dolphins can live in cold climates, genius."

"Yeah, but not around here!"

Jake moved away bit by bit, until he was two meters away.

"Hey- I'll be right back." Selia mumbled, going over to Jake. "Hey! How are you? I saw you were trying to surf earlier."

"It sucks."

"Pity. I'm having fun, though. Hey, do you want to go for a walk? Get away from their arguing?"

Holly stretched out on the sand, folding her hands behind her head, and closing her eyes, soaking in the sun.

"Sure!" Jake began walking a random way.

Selia followed him, holding her breath.
Tell him. Or kiss him. Something.

I haven't known him very long!

Long enough. What, you've known him indirectly for a while, and about the whole of last year.

What will Holly think?

Just do it.

But what if it gets awkward? And what about Antonio?

That jackass? Forget him.
Once they were far away from the others, Selia faced him, smiling. "So, um, I'd like to tell you something.."

Jake paused. "Oh, okay! Are you going to give me the recipe to those brownies?"

"Um, maybe later. But, um, right now I just wanted to say that.. Um.. Hanging out with you is really fun and relaxing and I really like you and I think that maybe it'd be great if you'd be my boyfriend." While she was talking, she was leaning closer and closer to him subconsciously.

Jake grinned. "But I am your boy friend! I'm also Holly's boy friend, that redhead's boy friend, I'm even Professor Sprout's boy friend. Sort of. She's an awesome teacher."

"God's Nightgown, you're stupid." Selia replied, leaning forward and kissing him.

He pulled away. "Why are you kissing me?"

"Because I like you like that."

Jake shrugged. "A hug's would be enough." He kept walking down the trail.

Holly was oblivious to the romantic scene between her best friend and the guy she hated--and she was also oblivious to the fact that Fry could easily be staring at something of Holly's, especially since she was in a bikini. She just... relaxed. Enjoyed the weather. Oblivious to everything.

"Urgh! You're impossible." Selia said, going back to the regular beach, looking slightly disappointed. Obviously, she'd been expecting him to like her, but apparently not. She sat back down next to Holly, pouting. "Holly, I just got rejected."

"How so," Holly mumbled, not opening her eyes. It didn't even come out as a question, just two words loosely strung together.

"I told Jake I liked him as a boyfriend. But he thought I meant boy as a friend. Then I kissed him and he was all like "A hug would have worked." Hmph!"
