Eric's Aunt's House

Dear Eric,

HEY ERIC! It's me Jake! Oh my gosh- school starts in a few days! Can't believe how the year shot by. I mean, it's nearly September! Nearly the year 2000! Well, we've still got a bit until that. But man, I have SO much to tell you. So, let's meet at the train station. Can't wait to reunite with you.

Eric stared at the card in disgust. Oh, so you ignore me for a whole year and then all of a sudden we're best friends again, huh?! Eric flipped the paper over and began scribbling back a reply- only two words.

Eric sat in his Aunt's house watching her cook something weird and brown, and looked pretty nervous. He really hoped he got accepted- otherwise he didn't know where else to go. And so, he just had his head against the table and waited. He kept going over the interview in his head, wincing at parts he thought he did horribly.

A couple of days later, an owl was perched on the windowsill. He had an envelope attached to his leg, which had the official Ministry wax seal on the back.

Eric finally noticed the owl, immediately stumbling over to open the window to let it in. He took the letter carefully from the owl not wanting to hurt it, and with wide eyes, he opened it.

It was from the Ministry, obviously. Specifically, Nick. He said that Eric had been hired, and his job started on Monday, and all of that.

"I got in! I got in!" Eric yelled, and ran around the kitchen like a little kid cheering and stuff. "YES!"

"You seriously thought you weren't going to get accepted?"

"Yeah! I mean, I thought I did horribly! But apparently, I did really really well! THANK YOU!"

Bright and early Monday morning, Nicolas was standing outside of the house. He knocked on the door, waiting patiently for Eric. He decided to escort Eric to work that day, show him around and all.

And so, Eric arrived, all ready, in some robes and stuff, and opened the door with wide eyes. "Thank you thank you!" he said happily, with a big grin. "I'm so happy to be accepted- it's.. it's really an honor."

"Why, thank you." Nicolas smiled, himself, but quickly became stern. "Now, I'm going to warn you, some of the employees have questionable sanity at best. And, another warning, do not smart off to Blaine Bradford, whatever you do."

"Who's that? Oh wait- he's the boss, right?"

"Yes, he's the boss. He's also 6'4" and very impatient. Don't get on his bad side."

"Oh, great." Eric closed his eyes and sighed. Then he was all happy again. "Either way, this is great- what do we do exactly? I mean, precisely?"

"Well, the first thing I do is..." He began explaining as they Apparated to the Ministry.

Selia was up in Eric's Aunt's bedroom, standing in front of a mirror. She wasn't wearing the dress yet, just a grey robe, and her hair wasn't ready, nor makeup- it was still an hour or two until the wedding actually started- but she was still looking nervous. She looked over at the grey garment bag that was just lying on the bed. In that bag was her wedding dress. And once she put it on, she'd go out onto the beach, and then Jake would be there, and she's get married.
This is positively terrifying. "Rachel!" Selia called, twiddling her thumbs. She needed somebody to talk to that was already married.

Eric's Aunt was in there, with Jake's mother, the two were squealing in excitement and stuff. Jake's mother had, indeed despite being said that she had bad style, helped Selia choose out a positively glorious dress. The two slightly elderly (It was beginning) were rummaging through the makeup, picking out everything they considered to be young and natural. The weather outside was perfect- not a cloud in the sky. The sun was glowing, and the tide was low, revealing the white dry sand which was slightly rocky. They had placed out long dark red carpets all around to protect everyone's shoes from sand and even though it was winter, the weather was endurable. Long classy thin lamps were around with candles in them, and tall rented vases with beautiful bouquets of flowers exploding out of them with all different kinds of flowers.

"You look beautiful." cooed Rachel, as she began to comb out Selia's long, blonde hair. Rachel herself looked very nice-she was wearing a beautiful, rich blue dress, for the beach themed wedding "And it will be just fine. Trust me, you'll be glad you went through with this-it's much better to be married then to be single." she assured.

"Alright. Alright.. Have you heard from Serenity? She's awfully late, she said she'd be here early." Selia was still twiddling her thumbs nervously.

At the moment, Serenity had just gotten up and was rushing to put on her dress and apparate to the location.

"I'm sure she'll be here. Oh gosh, Rachel, are you sure married life is okay? And, do you think I should let Eric's dear aunt and Jake's mum do my makeup? I mean, I'm sure they'll do fine, but I'm a bit nervous about it.. Oh, is it pretty out there? I haven't gotten a chance to look at how they've decorated it yet. I mean, I know there's a window, but I've just been too nervous.. What if he runs away?"

"Selia," began Rachel firmly. "Just calm down. Take a breath, and not say anything, while those two nice ladies do your hair and make up. Okay?"

"Alright. Alright." Selia sat down on the bed, waiting for the ladies to come in, trying not to muss up the dress.

And so, Jake's mom appeared by Selia's side with a smile. "You're beautiful, I'm so glad your hair is long this'll be so much easier." And so, she began with Selia's hair, brushing over it to smooth it out more. While doing this, she tried to bring up conversation with the three others. "So, how old are you exactly?" asked the mother to Rachel.

"Oh, thank you.." Selia said, and just sort of sat there. She wondered when she could put the dress on. She really did like that dress, it was actually very pretty. "Um.." She was about to say something, but she didn't want to interrupt their conversation. "UM, have you seen Jake? Is he.. here?"

Rachel actually wasn't paying attention to Selia for a minute. "I'm twenty-two." she said with a smile.

His mother nodded smilingly. "You look quite young for twenty-two!" she said with a brisk nod, before turning to Serenity. She had her hair wrapped around her hand a few times and was using her wand to try to keep the shape. There were a few strands out of the twist, which she was going to curl or braid back with a few flowers. Pinning the twist up in her hair with a long silver clip with a pale pink flower with green leaves the same color as Selia's eyes, Jake's mother began to hum some little tune.

"I'm here! I'm here!" Serenity said, rushing into the room. "Ooh, Selia, your hair is gorgeous! How are you? Stay brave, hun. Can I see the dress?"
"No, not until I put it on. You look nice, do you have your corsage yet? I think they're in the kitchen.."
"I'll get it later. Where is he? Have you two, you know.. Is your dress white?"
"Serenity, shut up! His mum is right here!" Selia reddened. "Thank you for your help, anyway, Mrs. Yashnid."
"Oh, sorry.." Serenity mumbled, then hugged Rachel. "Oh my gosh! Are you excited? I'm excited!"
