Cruise Apartment

Kelsi's eyes widened. "Really?! Wait, no, that's because I'm wearing heels.."

"No, even without your heels! You weren't wearing heels the other night, were you?"

"Uhh... no?" Kelsi was grinning widely. "Really, though? Do you truly think so? Or are you just ssying that to make a conversation?"

"Yes, I really think so! At the very least you grew an inch or so."

"Really?! Thanks! You've.... gotten wider shoulders, I guess. And you look more adultish." She added with a nod.

"Really? Well, thank you," he shoved his hands in his pockets. "I don't act like a child anymore, either. Or, I don't think I do, anyway. You don't, either."

"Ahh, i still react like a child sometimes... But, I guess I'm still myself." They arrived at an elevator, and Kelsi stepped in. She didn't want to take the stairs- she wanted to show off to Drew how she was brave and wasn't claustrophobic anymore.

Drew got in, and punched the button that read Kelsi's floor number. The dull hum of the elevator stopped after a couple of moments. Drew leaned against the wall nonchalantly.

"Does the elevator get stuck like this, usually?" he inquired, thinking about how brave Kelsi was for not being claustrophobic. She was so timid in tight spaces for so long!

"Umm... no? It's supposed to go down quickly." She began pressing the ground floor button repeatedly, growing more and more anxious. "Well, that's strange." she said in a falsely light voice.

"Yeah, weird. But, whatever, I can wait. Can't you?"

"Ummm..." Kelsi shrugged nervously, and began bouncing on the balls of her feet. "Come on..." she muttered. "What's wrong with this elevator?" She began pressing the ground button again a few times.

Drew pushed that one button that sent for help. "Kelsi, relax. Hitting the ground floor button more isn't going to make this go faster."

"Y-you know, Drew? It's hard to relax when you know you're pretty much in a box that's too small to breath, and we'll probably suffocate in here, and maybe one of the strings holding this elevator is going to snap, and we'll probably die?!" Kelsi clenched her jaw tightly, and her eyes were wide.

"Whoah, Kelsi!" He ran over to her, without hesitation, and wrapped his arms around her protectively. In an attempt to calm her down, and taking advantage of the close situation, he ran a hand through her hair. "You're not going to die. I won't let you die," he said softly to her.

She began to sniffle a bit. "I shouldn't have gone into the elevator with you... I just thought I was finally impressing you, and then this fucking elevator... piece of CRAP ruined it all." she began to cry into his chest.

"It's not your fault," he whispered to her. He didn't know what else to say, sincere or no, that would make her feel better, so he squeezed her tightly.

She hugged him back tightly. "W-what if we're stuck in here for two days like that one time to those other people? They had to pee in the corners and had no food.."

"What? That won't happen to us. I'm sure someone will have the doors ready any minute now."

Kelsi looked up into his eyes nervously. "You sure?" she whispered dramatically. "This is just like second year, remember?"

"Yeah, it is! And if you remember, in second year, someone rescued us."

"You rescued me." Kelsi sighed. "Come on, how much longer until they going to fix this?!"

"Will you stop worrying?" he cried, and leaned down to kiss her.

Kelsi nodded slowly. "I'll try."

And so, they started snogging. In the elevator.

Kelsi didn't really feel all that scared anymore. Sure she struggled to breath, but either way she had her lips against Drew's. And so, they kept doing so for another few minutes, before the doors opened with the sweet little ding.
