Illumination Island

"Well... no." Ari blinked. "Wasn't saying I didn't like it."

"Alrighty then!... Oh. Happy Christmas Eve everyone!" Amanda said awkwardly.

"Oh, hey there, Potter." She waved.

Olivia figuratively planted the tree just to the left of the fireplace. "How's this."

"Hiya." Amanda stared at the tree. "A little to the left."

"No, no, this is good." Olivia stepped back and held up her thumbs and pointer fingers in the shape of a camera box lens thing like people do. "Yep, this is good."

"Nonono. A little to the left." Amanda went over and schooched it to the left.

Olivia scooched it back. "No."

"Yes." Amanda scooched it over.

"No!" She moved it back.

Amanda stopped moving it. "Your lucky this is your house, Livvie."

"Damn right it is. Where do you wanna sleep."

Amanda shrugged. "If I have a roof over my head I'm fine."

"Soeri's it is."

Amanda said no a second after Olivia said that.

"Anywhere where someone didn't die. And there are people I know living there."

"RATS! Only rats... And in that case, you won't be wanting the living room. Or the room at the end of the hall... or the library..." She paced around the living room, listing these off.

"Okay. Can I sleep on your room's floor then?" Amanda held up her sleeping bag.

"Pretty small floor."

"Eh kay. Whatevs."

Amanda grinned. "Wanna have a snowball fight?"

Olivia took out her wand and shot a severing charm at a line of packing tape sealing the last box of Christmas ornaments. Unfortunately, she missed, and thus became a large tear in the carpet. "Dang it," she muttered before stalking away to the kitchen to unearth a pair of scissors like any other muggle.

Amanda bit down on her lower lip to keep from laughing at the gash in the carpet. While Olivia went to get the scissors, Amanda performed the charm and cut te tape.

Whether she was too lazy to look through the utility drawer or just felt like being dramatic, Olivia returned a moment later with a blue-handled ham slicer. "You wanna go, tape? Let's go." She proudly walked right up to that box, then saw that the tape had already been cut. "... HA! Intimidation always works. Good times." She set the long knife on the kitchen table, knelt next to the box, and began unpacking all the colored orbs, primary school crafts tied to ribbons, and beaded icicle strings.

Amanda kneeled beside her, poking through the array of colors before her. She stared at Olivia for a moment before saying, "Have you guys made your popcorn strands yet?"

"Nope, they attract fruitflies. Oi, Serenity, wanna help?"
