A Vineyard

Libby nervously frowned into the full-length mirror that had been brought into the winery (which would later double as the place of the reception). Holly, Kelsi, and Rachel were crowded around Libby, who had already had her hair curled and make-up done by a professional stylist. The beautiful white dress had been made of the finest satin, and fitted to hug her curves and form to her body. Fiddling with the bouquet made of rather expensive flowers, she glanced around at her friends and sister.

"How do I look?" she inquired, avoiding eye contact and pretending to be fascinated at the exotic flowers.

"Libby, you look absolutely beautiful," Holly ensured her. "And I couldn't have picked a better spot for the wedding to be. It's so nice outside... the sun's about to set, you know."

"Yes, I know, Holly. That's why I picked it to be at this time! A sunset on a vineyard is gorgeous!"

Kelsi smiled. "It'll be like your first kiss, only better," she said softly. She had a dreamy look in her eyes as she straightened her friend's dress.

Rachel was leaning back, against the vanity for the makeup, with her arms folded. "I think she looks beautiful! The dress looks like it was a million dollars to make!" Rachel had been going to many weddings lately, and the whole 'worried bride' ordeal had been starting to get on her nerves lately.

"I don't understand why all of you are so scared. I mean, you've already been living with the guy!" she said, sounding just a tiny bit cross.

"They're about to be eternally bonded, that's why!" Kelsi said happily.

"So what?!" Libby snapped at Rachel. "I bet you were nervous on your wedding day!" She glanced back at herself in the mirror. "This dress really is too long. What if I trip on it when I go down the aisle?"

"Then we'll pick you up, and be nice to you, and you'll continue on your way." She said coolly, shaking her head. Rachel didn't answer the question. She didn't understand why she was feeling like this-maybe the nerves really WERE getting to her.

"Fine," Libby sighed, brushing her hair out of her face. "I think it's about time to start."

"We better get ready." she mumbled, and she got in position with the other bridesmaids.

"I'm scared!" whined Max.

It was his wedding day of course obviously. He looked quite handsome, to boot. He wore a nice black tuxedo, and he wasn't wearing his ratty and tacky Christmas tie for once. He had attempted to style his hair even, so it wasn't entirely to crazy and curly; that would have to wait for the dance floor and tonight. To top off, he even used a lemon to bleach out some of his freckles.

"Nick!" He grabbed the poor man and turned to look at him in the eye. "When I'm waiting down by the altar, what should I do? Look at Libby with a manly smile, or have a couple tears in my eyes with a cheesy grin?" Max demanded.

Kelsi straightened her strap-less golden-yellow dress, and straightened the hairband in her hair with the yellow rose. She had on white lace gloves and put on her pretty white hat with the yellow and white flowers. Her dark hair was curled- something new she tried, and it fit her amazingly well. She had on some nice makeup- dark smokey eyeliner that made the shine in her eyes pop, and a nice goldish skin lipstick. She was very pretty, but nothing compared to the beauty Libby was. "Well, let's get you going, Libby. I'm so amazed... You're getting married!" she sighed happily.

"Where's your honeymoon going to be?" Rachel asked curiously.

"We're going to Hawaii!" Libby grinned. "I'm going to see if I can get him to go parasailing with me."

Nicolas had decided to get ready for the event as well. His blond hair was nice and trimmed, his stubble shaved, and he was wearing his nicest suit and tie.

"Smile at her like you're happy to be there," Nicolas advised after some thought. "Manly smile should be saved for the honeymoon, and if you have tears in your eyes she'd probably cry too."

"Hawaii, huh." Rachel raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Who's paying for all of this?!"

"But, that's so..." Max searched for this right word, which took a minute to find with him being all nervous and all. "Overdone. I think I'll go for the manly smile."

"Rachel, the two have great jobs. Plus, it's their Weddings, money shouldn't be a problem. Do you have any idea about this all!?" Kelsi had that sparkly glint in her eyes, she was too happy for her friend.

Rachel shrugged and thought about this for a minute. "I bet even Princess Dianne would have liked to come to this wedding." And she went off, muttering something about checking on the appetizers.

"Us!" Libby's grin got even wider. "Rachel, I'm an official Healer and Max is a Curse Breaker. It's not that hard to pay for."

"The manly smile is much more overdone. Why don't you listen to the person who's already married?" Nicolas frowned up at Max. He was a good friend and all, but sometimes he was so dense.

She had already left.

Max gave him a small glare. "You didn't have a big ceremony like this. How are you supposed to know?" he said, sounding a bit more rude then he perhaps meant too.

Nicolas glared right back. Quite fiercely, indeed. "It doesn't matter if it was a big ceremony, it was still a wedding. Do whatever you want, I was just trying to help."

Kelsi shrugged. "Hey, let's go." She said with a big smile, and took Libby's hand. Then she noticed something. "Wait!" She got out the something from her bag and sprayed it on Libby. "Perfume scented like roses. You are a Bride, might as well smell like one." she then put it in her bag, and took Libby's hand with her own gloved one.

"Thanks, but it wasn't much of a help." Max was about to throw in a couple more snarky comments, but he had decided against it. Not before the ceremony anyway. No, he'd wait until the martinis were brought out.

"Then don't ask for any." Nicolas went and stepped into place like a good best man, straightening his tie and what-not as Libby and Kelsi stepped out of the winery and started walking together.

And Rachel walked out as well, holding a couple of tiger lilies in her hand, with a happy smile on her face.

And Max went out as well, to his place at the altar.

And so whatever song started playing, and Kelsi was in her place with the other bridesmaids, and she was grinning at her friend who was walking down the aisle.

Libby was walked down the aisle, smiling softly at everyone and all of that. Once she had her place at the altar, she gazed up at Max, and at that moment, she only had eyes for him. Nothing else mattered.

Max felt absolutely proud of himself, and his beautiful soon to be wife. There was no other word to describe that beautiful feeling he felt right there. He was proud oh himself for making it so far into his life up until this part. And, even more so, he had the most beautiful and wonderful girl beside him, who was going to be his wife.

That manly smile of proudness was no problem for him, that moment.
