The New Brown House :A

"HEY! Get back here!" called out Max. "I wanna hear this little surprise of yours!"

Libby was silent. However, after she had her coffee, she was awake enough to speak. "Are you suuuure, Mr. Impatient?"

Kelsi shook her head. She kept kicking the snow innocently, and then got some onto Drew.

Drew kicked some back onto her, aimlessly. Not like he was trying to start anything.

"Hey! It was an accident," she said and kicked some right back.

"Yeah, I bet," Drew smirked, kicking some back at her; a little more than she had kicked, herself.

It got into her boots. "Hey!" she said, laughing, and bent down to get some snow. She balled it up in her hands and threw it at his shoulder.

Drew dodged it, but fell on his butt into the snow. "Hey!" he called, balling up some snow and throwing it square at her face.

Kelsi not expecting it got the full blow in her face and gasped. "You--" she wiped it away but it clung to her eyelashes and she instantly got more snow and pelted it at him. "Asshole!" she said laughing.

Drew burst out laughing when the snowball hit him square in the stomach, and threw some more snow at Kelsi. "Bitch, you'll pay for that!"

"With what, snow!?" she said running her hand through it as though it was water, and "splashing" him with it. It was very cold, but she was having too much fun.

Drew, however, fumbled around in his pockets until he found his gloves. "Hah! I'm prepared!" he yelled, pelting some more snow at her. His cheeks were red--both from laughing and from the cold.

"Well, I was prepared from the beginning! Your gloves will soak through eventually!" She got a bunch of snow and dumped it on his head since he was still on the ground and fell over next to him in the process of doing so.

Drew sat up, and got a handful of snow, dumping it on her since she was on the ground, too. "They won't soak through, they're too thick!"

She lazily got the snow out of her hair, but it had melted a bit so her hair was wet and so was her face. The tip of her nose and cheeks were light red, and her lips were turning into a shade of purple. "Damn you, you lucky shit!" She knew she was swearing a bit, but she didn't care. She felt giddy and happy, even though she was getting really cold and wetter by the second. She kicked snow at him with her boots, then pulled out her wand, and pointed it at the ground. "Reducto!" The spell caused a ton of snow to explode all around them- not only at Drew. She clearly wasn't thinking, and was acting quite high on life. And so, they had snow which had turned slightly liquified from the strength and heat of the spell. "Oh," she said, and began to laugh.

Drew laughed, though he wasn't really sure why, anymore. He had imagined this night to be more romantic, but hey, anything would do. "G-God, Kels! You're a riot!"

His laugh made her laugh and she was holding her stomach tightly while laughing. "I'm so sorry! O-oh, can you feel your fingers?! I sure can't!" she said still laughing.

Eventually she calmed down though and just dropped into the snow with a heavy sigh, lying there and just staring up.

"I actually can," Drew said once he had calmed down. He laid next to Kelsi, despite the intense chill of the snow, and gazed up at the night sky. "I reckon it's almost midnight," he said aimlessly.

"Yes, I'm pretty sure too," Kelsi said. She had a watch on, but she didn't want to lift her hand. She just wanted to lie there with him. "According to the positions of the clouds..." she said, squinting her eyes, as though trying to figure out what time it was. "It is precisely eleven fifty-seven and thirty-four seconds." Obviously, though, she was making it up. A smile lit up slowly on her lips.

Drew rolled his eyes. "You can't tell time by clouds. Besides, there aren't any." He checked his watch. "Eleven fifty-six."

"Well, I got it wrong by one minute." Kelsi said with a sharp nod of her head, then sighed. She moved closer to Drew, and just layed her head against his slowly, or tried, since they were lying down.

Drew maneuvered himself so that his arm was around her shoulders. "I reckon fireworks will be going off soon, hmm?"

"Yeah!" She said happily, and smiled up to the sky. She was wearing a bit of makeup- some eyeliner and masquera. Her eyes seemed to gleam as she looked up, and the two were together hugging tightly in the snow. Before they knew it, the fireworks went off.

"Hey, Kels?" Drew asked aloud. "How about if we spend more than New Year's together?"

She turned her head. "Oh, like tomorrow too? That'd be cool, I'm free then too!"
