Pendragon U

A short, petite, blonde young lady marched in the bedroom, with a small box in her hands. Without saying a word to Amanda, she walked over to her side of the bedroom, and threw the box onto the bed. She opened it up, and began to decorate her side of the dorm room, starting with putting up posters of Wizarding equivalents of Indie bands, and other things. She put some candles on her end table, and on her desk, she put her course books on the desk. She then pulled off the generic school blankets on her bed, and put on some fresh, light blue ones, with a blindingly bright and disgusting looking yellow and red plaid coverlet.

When she was all finished, she sat down on her bed, and stared at Amanda, adjusting her huge glasses, which seemed to exaggerate the size of her eyes.

After a long moment of silence, she said:

"Are you part giant or something. You're so tall!" she exclaimed, in a thick Irish accent.

Amanda sat straight up, making some sort of choked gasp. She continued moving her wand though, so the large novels she had brought to read for the first part of school still floated over to the top shelf of her desk. She pushed the wild strand of her hair out of her face, and finally spoke after a minute of silence. "No. I'm only six feet tall... And that's not a very good way to greet a room mate! Hi. I'm Amanda Potter." Amanda held out her hand to the girl.

"Collen O'neil." said Colleen, with that same intense look on her face, that was apparently her default look. She took the hand, and she shook it; she had a firm handshake. "Potter, eh? You mean the Boy Who Lived?! HAH! You're probably not related to him! What a joke!" she said, laughing very loudly. Colleen was completely oblivious to Amanda's looks and scar.

"So, what school did you go to Potter?"

Amanda pushed the hair out of her eyes again, this time revealing the scar bluntly. "I am related to him, and I went to Hogwarts. Where'd you go?"

Colleen didn't even seem to hear that Amanda was related to him, or she did, she didn't pay any attention.

"WHOAH! You went to that little pathetic British school that doesn't even have any interesting courses that could take you anywhere in life?! That stinks! I went to a school in Ireland!"

Amanda smiled viciously. "How nice! I was in the Great Battle of Hogwarts. You know? The one where Voldemort was defeated?"

Colleen grinned. "Oh, I heard about that little uprising! Happened only a couple months ago, eh? Well, I DO love my old school, but I can't help but feel happy for Hogwarts, you know? It's nice that they have something to brag about!"

Amanda stood up, looking down at Coleen. She loved Hogwarts, and felt like Coleen was insulting her family. "Hogwarts brought up Albus Dumbledor, may he rest in peace, one of the greatest wizards of all time. Also Harry Potter, who killed Voldemort. And countless other important people in this wizarding world!"

"Hold your horses, girl!" exclaimed Colleen, pushing up her glasses again. "You have to realize that any other country in this world could have produced those wizards. It just so happened to be Britain." she flopped down. "And have you ever read The Life Of Times Of Albus Dumbledore? He was a strange man..."

"Wasn't it written by the same twit who wrote for the Profit?" Amanda said through her teeth, still standing.

"What's the Prophet? Your wizarding newspaper?-ah, never mind. This talk of old school's isn't right to break the ice now that we're at some prestigious academy that took a long time to apply and get in-not to mention the high tuition cost. What are ya studying?"

"I'm probably going to major in English. I'm writing a book so... What about you?" Amanda loosened up a bit, plopping back down on her bed.

"A book?! How impressive. Going to stun the world with the next great book of British literature? I'm majoring in Law, with a minor in Numerology. I figured if I could predict who will win in a case, I can get the most out of it."

"Oh? That's a pretty good idea! Are you taking any of the magical classes they have?" Amanda seemed completely different, soaking in the complement.

There was yelling from down the hall, accompanied by the screeching of someone performing an epic air guitar solo.

"...Oh my god. No." Amanda's eyes widened. "Olivia..."

Colleen looked towards the door, and stared. "Is Olivia your friend?!" she listened to the guitar solo carefully. "...And WHY is a song by The Weird Sisters playing?! Their music is crap!"

The door opened. A tall guy with bad shaving entered in sweatpants and a belly shirt. He had on a flowery apron. "Housekeeping." he said in a bored, robotic tone.

"Best friend actually. She's a bit crazy, though." Amanda looked at the dude. "The dorm is clean... go away, please."

"Obviously." she then muttered underneath her breath. "Great, just what we need. Another Hogwarts creep at this exclusive university."

"Have you checked the toilets? I kept these last because they were the worst." He opened the door, and took a whiff. "I see you haven't. I'll get started on these." He turned to look officially at them, revealing Tanner Wood.

The guitar solo switched to a short drum solo, then off-key vocals. "SO TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF ME, TONIGHT I'M BREAKING FREE, THIS IS THE NIGHT!"

Amanda stood up, looking completely shocked. "T-t-tanner?" She said slowly, eyes huge.

"You KNOW that guy?!" she exclaimed, loud enough for him to hear her. "I thought he was jut some hobo they found off the street to clean! And tell your friend that my OWL sings better then her!"

Tanner had a face that showed disgust, shock, and annoyance. "... Who- how do you know my name."
