Amanda walked in, trying to find her obvious glances around at every employee. She was determined to find Trevor, even if the chance of him being here today was slim.

And there he was, in all his white-collared black-aproned glory, serving a spinach pizza to a party of five and giving them the usual waiter speech. "If you need anything else, just let me know. Refill on the iced tea, ma'am?" All the rest.

A hostess came to Amanda, who even complied to her request to sit her at one of Trevor's table with a bit of a grin. "He'll be right with you, miss." With the, the hostess walked off, her obnoxiously high pony-tail bouncing away. Amanda browsed the menu as she waited.

Soon enough, Trevor approached her table. "Afternoon, I'm Trevor, I'll be your-- Hey!" That odd little half-smile brightened his graying face well. "The girl from the bookstore? How've you been?"

Amanda looked at him innocently, acting as if she didn't remember him. "Girl from the book...Oh! I've been good, thanks. Pestered by Hog--a group from my high school for some high school reunion, but other than that fine. You?"

"I've been alright. Going through the motions as usual," he said with a sigh. "Decided on a drink? I'd love to chat, but as you can see, we're sort of busy."

Amanda sighed dramatically. "No time for conversation is lame. Maybe..." She started to twirl her hair around her finger, "We could make some time tomorrow?" Amanda hadn't flirted in a while, and even when she did have 'practice' she was bad.

Trevor looked a tad uncomfortable with this blatant display. He checked his watch. "Actually," he said, "My shift should be over in... half an hour?"

Amanda didn't notice him being uncomfortable. "That sounds cool! Should I wait here, or just lurk around outside?"

"How about you order something?"

"Oh!" Amanda looked down at the menu, embarrassed and now furiously blushing. "I'll have uhm... just... uh... What do you recommend?"

"Well, the calzones are pretty good. Especially the chicken pesto." He prepared his notepad. "Though, you want something to drink first?"

"I'll have some coke and one of those chicken pestos, please." Amanda was still blushing furiously.

Trevor scrawled down her order. "Alright... got it. Hey, you look tense! Relax." With another flash of his teeth, he'd moved on to another table.

Amanda eased up after he said then, now slouching a bit and not trying to be a perfectionist. She was still blushing, though.

And so, about half an hour and one calzone later, Trevor joined Amanda at the table, black tie loosened and apron balled up in his hand. "Hey."

Amanda grinned, stuffing her book into his purse when he sat down. "Hey." She looked around, searching for conversation. "Are you guys always this busy?"

"Yep, this is about average," said Trevor. "It's worse on weekends."

Amanda shook her head in amazement. "That's insane. Or, it's normal and I just need to get out more." Amanda laughed.

He laughed as well. "I'd guess the second."

"Honestly, I feel like one of those grumpy hermits..." Amanda was still eying the place in amazement.

"What've you been doing all locked up like you're implying, then?"

"Eh... training to be a crazy old cat lady and writing?"

"Cat lady?" Trevor chuckled. "I could see that!"
