The Library

Rachel was in the library, studying.

Amanda sat down at a table, scribbling notes about magical creatures, but not for homework seeing as she dropped the class this year.

"Hey Amanda, what are you taking notes about?" asked Rachel.

Amanda looked up from her book, rubbing her eyes. "Oh nothing much. I wanted to learn a bit on magical creatures myself instead of taking the class this year. God only knows what they'll be teaching in it."

Rachel looked gross out. "Probably about animals that are bred for slaughtering people... and you get to train them on other animals."

"Exactly," Amanda said sighing before she continued, "So I'm continuing on my own. What are you studying?"

"Transfiguration. I'm not taking many classes this year but I figure I should excel the one's I'm taking."

"That's a good idea. I remember how stressed out I was last year due to taking all the classes I could fit. I don't even think I had a free block! Quality not quantity, I guess."

"Yeah, but at least you have an idea of what you want to do with your life. I have no idea where I'll be in twenty years..."

"I do?"

"Yeah! I can imagine you being a teacher or something."

Amanda cracked a small smile. "I'm not patient enough."

"I still think you'd be a great teacher. You're really kind, funny, and of course smart. And besides, you have glasses. That makes you perfect for the job!"

Amanda bursted into laughter. "So anyone with glasses can be a teacher?"

"Well, not EVERYONE. But Angel has glasses and he could be a good teacher. He's certainly smart enough-I mean he's going to PENDRAGON University. You have to be really smart and get super good grades to go there."

"...He's the founder's kid."

"Did we say Angel?" Serenity said, popping up- she had been wandering around, looking for books on how to write love letters.

Amanda facepalmed. "My lord."

"We're talking smack about him, that's all." she said casually. She then turned her attention back to Amanda, ignoring Serenity. "Really," she said lowering her voice, so Serenity wouldn't hear. "Guess he isn't that smart after all."

"Well, he must be at least average."

"He's great!" Serenity said, sitting down at their table. "Why are we talking badly about him?!"

"Because, he annoys the heck out of me. I prefer Elroy over the Astor twins."

"He's really nice," Serenity insisted. "He is. But, he never replies to my letters.."

Olivia appeared staring over Serenity's shoulder. "What's everyone in here for? Smells like old paper..."
