The Yule Ball

They danced pretty closely.

And yes indeed.

Like, almost hug-dancing.

O rly, are they.

And so, Rachel stood around. Rather awkwardly. Cause she doesn't know what's going. Cause it's been a week. Yeah.

Ya rly, they are.

Nicolas was off in a corner of the room, trying to be out of eyesight of Rachel, rubbing his feet. God, Rachel's heels hurt.

Rachel slumped down. She hadn't realized she was this bad at dancing. Maybe she should have worn flats after all. That sounded like a better idea now.

But Nicolas wasn't screaming. That was good. :D

Libby came over, and sat next to Rachel. "How was your night, Rach?"

"Oh, I failed, of course. What's new with you?"

"Nothing, really, but I think Max hates my dress. And I think he's still mad at me. How are you and Nicolas, though? Like, as a couple?"

"Eh, we're OK. He's been avoiding me though."

Okay, they are then.

Elroy looked quite bored.

"Why do you think he would?" Libby asked, getting a mug of butterbeer and drinking some.

"I DUNNO. THAT'S JUST IT."

Libby gulped down the last of her butterbeer, and got a refill. "Maybe you hang out too much... maybe you correct him too much...?" Libby supplied some possibilities.

"I know, I probably do. But, I just can't help it. He means a lot too me," she slumped down even more. "Well, at least some of us are having fun..."

Libby, now halfway through her third mug thing of butterbeer, faced Rachel. "You're fourteen... hecan takecareof himself, can'the? Heknows nottogetintrouble. Andifyoucorrecthim toomuch, hecan'tgivehis opinion onthings." Her words slurred together.

Rachel stared at her drinking habits. "You're probably going to get drunk, anyway, I wonder where Max is..."

And with that, Max was just getting out of the bathroom. Apparently, he had a little too much butter beer.

Libby cleared her throat. "Usually it's Drewwhogetsdrunk..." she trailed, off, then thought for a moment. "I usually have one or two, a little. But thisistheYuleBall. I'm going to go back to the dorm, I guess. MaxandIdidn'treally talkalot." She said the last sentence sleepily, put her now-empty mug on the table, and stretched her legs. "Have fun with Nicolas." She walked over to Max, said good-bye, hugged him, and left, stumbling around a little bit, both because of the butterbeer she had just drank and because she was about one-fourth asleep.

And so, Rachel standing around awkwardly begun once more.

Once Nicolas had rubbed his feet well enough, and [most of] the pain was gone, he walked back over to Rachel. "Hey. Last dance." He held out his hand for her to take. It was the last dance.

And yes, Kelsi, Drew was dancing with that girl.

"Wait," she pulled her hand away from his grasp. "I just kinda wanted to say sorry for being such a worry. I guess I really was just like your mom or something," and she laughed rather nervously.

Nicolas smiled. "No, really?" He took her hand again, and they started dancing and stuff. <3 "You were acting like my mom. :A"

"Eh, I'm sorry..." and she danced. With only stepping on his foot ONCE during it. 8D
