"You know what, this doesn't matter. It's just hair." She said, smiling up at him. "And I sort of just wanted to tell you that you're plenty aggressive."

"That's right. you were just dillusional."

"I'm not delusional!" Selia said. "Sure, you're stronger than me, but I think I'm the more aggressive in personality."

Jake shrugged. "Whatever, girlfriend." he said in a sassy voice.

Selia cracked up. "Holy cow-- you sounded just like a gay guy!" She said through her laughter.

"Ooooh, did I now?"

"You did! Honestly- you sounded like you were going to put on a pink scarf and drive off in a barbie car."

Jake burst out laughing. "What's Barbie?"

"I'll tell you sometime later," Selia said. "But.. She's blonde, and really girly, and is a doll for little girls."

"You're a lot like Barbie, then."

"She's entirely made of plastic and her body proportions would cause a person to have no digestive organs, excluding a super small stomach, nearly no heart and only one lung." Selia said. "And, how am I a doll?"

And so, it was the next month, and Jake was getting ready to go just chill out with Selia.

Selia knocked on the door- early as always. She was looking all spiffy and neat, like she always tried to be when she met Jake. She knew he probably wouldn't care, but the instinct still kicked in, and the primping had always started. Getting impatient, she knocked again.

Jake opened the door, with a big smile. "What's up?!" he said, and instantly hooked arms with her, grabbing his sweater with the other hand, and closed the door as they left. He smelled nice and fresh. "So, tell me about your wonderful day."

"Hmm. Well, it started off when I woke up to see my cat eating a purple parrot. No, um, it was actually pretty mediocre. I got up, went to work, got off, went down to the cauldron shop, browsed a bit, then came here."

"That's great! Hey, Selia?"

"Yeah?" Selia asked, smiling.

He dropped down on one knee. Then he looked up to her and took her hand. "Would..." He breathed in, and closed his eyes. This was going to be harder to say than to think.

Selia, even though she had thought of what it would be like to have a person actually get down on one knee, was blissfully oblivious. She just stood there, smiling blankly at Jake.

"You help me tie my shoelace? I really need some help." He pointed down at his untied shoe.

"Sure." Selia looked at the shoe, trying not to hide her disappointment. Maybe she was wrong, and he wasn't ready to propose. Or maybe he was just chickening out. Nonetheless, she bent down to help him tie the shoe, smiling weakly.

Around the shoe lace, there was a small silver ring with a beautiful diamond glittering proudly.

Selia stared at Jake's shoe. For a second, she was almost a bit angry he had made her think he wasn't actually going to ask, but she got over that pretty quickly. She screamed loudly, then tackled him, not even caring about untying the ring. Yet. There would be plenty of time to show it off. Holly, Eric, Serenity (there would have to be a way to find that elusive sister of hers), Rachel, anyone she knew. But right now, she was just blissfully happy.

Jake began laughing really hard, hugging her back. He was grinning widely, and yelped a bit as he tried to protect his foot.

"I love you. And, I don't think you ever asked me the question." Selia teased, smiling at him.
