Nicolas stared up at the Dark Mark for a moment still after Rachel had begun using his shoulder as a tissue--then realized that was happening, and put his arms around her, embracing her, and stroking her hair with one hand. A nagging part of him hoped that it would be the other way around, because Nick was the one that was really screwed here. And that nagging part had realized that Karin was right. Now that Dumbledore was dead, the Muggle-borns and most likely their accomplices would probably be killed, and Nicolas didn't want Rachel to get hurt. But he would talk to her about it later. For now, he was going to be the strong boyfriend, the human tissue. But he wasn't sure how long he could keep a tough demeanor.

So, it happened.

Like the rest of the school, Karin had joined the hundreds of sobbing children and staff. But, she wasn't sobbing or crying or mourning like some of them. No, instead she just felt an odd feeling. A feeling of... indifference. A feeling that's hard to describe or feel at a time like this.

A feeling that knows that chaos was about to ensue.

A feeling that knows thousands were going to loose their lives

A feeling that knows friends and family is going to be in big trouble any time soon enough. And yet, all that Karin was feeling was indifference.

Then, oddly enough... a small simple crept up onto her face...

"... Yep, I reckon we're screwed ..." Olivia murmured, wondering if it would be worth it to try to push through the crowd and get a glimpse of the headmaster's dead body. Probably not.

Kelsi, once at the outside of the crowd, just cried. She didn't know why she didn't just go back inside. Maybe it was the fact that she was scared to go inside. Or that she just wanted to stay outside, on this bland, clowdy day. The tears just ran down her cheeks, and fell into her hair, and into her hands.

Amanda stood there, near the front of the crowd. Tears slipping down her face, the corpse a picture that would forever be frozen in her mind. She searched the crowd for Wallace, or Olivia, or some sort of familiar face.

[WE WAITED. C:]

Olivia joined in the ceremonious wand-lighting that was spreading through the crowd. As did Wallace, wherever he was.

As along with Rachel and Max and Karin.

As did Nicolas and Libby and Holly, who had found her way down there.

Kelsi moved in slowly, and she also raised her wand above her head. It sparked a few times, and soon glowed evenly with the others, forming a glowing blanket upon them. Tears ran down her cheeks, along with the clouds of the heavens above sending down its own tears upon them all.

Amanda faded back into the crowd, raising her wand high above her head. With a steady river of tears falling of her face, Amanda lit her wand, trying to stop seeing the image of the corpse.
