Bland Little Coffee Shop

Amanda stood outside, her scarf wrapped tightly around her neck, waiting for her date to arrive.

"Hey!" A muffled voice called. Of course, it was Oz. He was wearing a scarf over his mouth, thus the muffled voice. "Good day for coffee, huh? Why don't we go inside?"

Amanda nodded, her ears were bright red from the cold. "A perfect day." She opened the door and walked in, not even holding it open for him.

Oz frowned. She was being a little rude. But, nonetheless, he got them a table successfully. "So.. What do you do for a living?"

"...I don't actually work. My parents passed away when I was little, so I have inheritance money. Right now I'm writing a book though. It's being processed at a publisher right now."

"What's it about?"

"Oh well-" Oh. Frig. It's about Magical Creatures.... "I'd rather not say until it's published."

"Oh... You can tell me anything, you know." He said, in that deep, quiet voice of his. "I won't leak the secrets."

"It's... all about... mythology. The creatures of it and what not. I've been studying during ho--high school about it and what not." Ugh. Converting wizard to muggle is harder than it seems.

"Oh, that's cool. I like those stories. WIll you get me a copy? I'll pay.."

Amanda violently blushed. "A-alright."

Oz smiled at her silently. He was sort of a quiet person. But, after a while, he spoke up. "So... Where was your high school located? Did you think about going to college?"

"I'm not really sure, it was a private school, and we took a train to it. I didn't think about college until my friends were, and one helped me get in because her parents owned it."

"You didn't choose a college for your benefits? Sounds like you get pushed around a lot."

"O-oh no. It's a very good school so..." ...I guess I do. All of my choices are friend this and that..."

"Hm.." Oz stared at her intently. "Well, then. Are you sure you made that choice for yourself? Sometimes it's good to be selfish."

"Y-yes. And that way I could be closer to my friend. But she dropped out middle of the year, but the school is good..."

"She dropped out?" Oz frowned even more. "Where did she go? Is she alright?"

"I'm not quite sure. She isn't responding to my letters."

"I'm sorry to hear that.. How's your coffee?"

"It's fine, a little too strong, but fine. Your's?"

"It's fine. I like my coffee I brew better, though."

Amanda couldn't help but let out a small laugh.

"What, that was funny? Hmm.."

"Oh- no. S-s-sorry." Amanda said, holding back a smile.
