Lown's Teaching Academy, London

Kelsi entered the school with her suitcase, and breathed in the smell. It had a lemony fresh smell, mixed with the nicely polished interior of the school. It was must nicer than Hogwarts, but smaller and not as welcoming. Either way, there was a check-in desk like at the hotels, and a small lounge behind a pair of glass doors with a nice fireplace and big mushy armchairs. Students who had already arrived were settled in the chairs, reading and such. They all seemed so plain, and some students looked even in their thirties.

Kelsi walked on the clean wooden floor with her shoes, and set her suitcase in front of the large desk that fell under her chest. She opened her bag, and pulled out the acceptance letters, some ID, and a wand. They signed her in, gave her her dorm number, and she was set off to the large marble staircase with wooden railings. Kelsi shook her head- this place was far too decorated, and reminded her strongly of Serenity's luxurious home.

She made herself to the first level, where there was a long hallway with many different classrooms. floor matched the staircase's, and the walls were a pearl cream color that had nice carvings that were Greek-like where the walls met with the ceiling.

Kelsi shifted her suitcase's weight to her other arm, and continued up the staircase.

Kelsi entered her dorm, and dropped her suitcase on the ground. "Ahh..." she was happy- she was in the dorm, and there was nobody there to bother her! Yet, at least. Hopefully she'll have her own dorm, but hey, she doesn't mind being flexible.

There were two large beds that looked impressive, with big duvet covers and a nice matching knit cover at the foot of the bed. The pillows were nice and poofy, and once Kelsi sat onto the bed, she sunk in nicely. "Wow... This place is amazing," she sighed, with a contented smile, and buried her face into the pillow.

It smelled of lavender and other spices that combine in well. She lifted her head a bit later, and looked around the room. The window was open, and she had arrived at the end of the afternoon so the walls which were painted a nice scarlet with golden designs close to the bottom of them reflected the sun around.

But unfortunately for Kelsi, she DID have a roommate.

During that five minute period of Kelsi just laying there, the roommate came in, and began to make her side of the room, her's. She magically painted her side blanket with a white stripe running through it, and she replaced all the covers with her own black and white versions. She pulled out her own furnishings, and decorations, and soon enough, the room-mate's side of the room looked completely different.

She now laying there on her bed, buried in the book Les Miserables completely oblivious of Kelsi. Her black hair in two pigtails, and olive colored skin. She wore a white button up top, and a plain black skirt.

Apparently the roommate was wealthy, a fan of monochrome, and a bit of a creeper.

Kelsi turned her head slowly, mouth slightly agape, and stared. ".... Hi?"

The girl looked up and stared at Kelsi for a long time. She looked as though she was glaring at her, but she wasn't, really. Her dark brown eyes were naturally slit like.

She nodded at her slowly, made a grunting noise, and returned to her book.

"... What book are you reading?"

The girl held up the book for a minute, and then returned to reading it. She then spoke for the first time.

"Even though it's sad, it somehow makes me feel better after all the trouble in my life..." she had a slow, quiet voice. "Once... I saw my friend die in a car accident... her arms were all mangled..." she looked up, and stared at Kelsi again, that same creeper smile.

"I never forgot that... and I never will..."

Kelsi blinked. She paled a bit. "Oh-er... that's not really a matter to smile about, is it? That's... really sad."

"Yes it was... oh yes, where are my manners? I am Joan." she then stood up, and walked over to her trunk. "And you have yet to meet Penelope."

"I'm Kelsi," She said with a smile. "Oh, we have another room mate?" Kelsi looked around the room for a bed. "But, there's only two beds!"

"No, I mean my doll." she said softly. From her trunk, she produced a doll that was about the size of an American Girl doll. The doll wore a plain dark blue dress, with black Mary-Janes.

She looked like any normal doll, except her head was decapitated.

"Penelope doesn't like having her head on, you see."

Kelsi stared. "O-ohh! That's great! Umm, just to make you sure- I like to keep my head on, but clearly my stomach is thinking otherwise with my lunch- I'll be right back." she rushed to the bathroom, and closed the door behind her, and leaned against the sink. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SOME KIND OF JOKE!? the voice screamed in her head.

Like a mother, Joan carefully fixed Penelope's dress, and carefully set her so the doll was sitting next to her. With a small, soft smile, Joan returned to her book.

Kelsi reentered the room and smiled weakly. "I'm.. going to go walk around the school. Please, don't touch my side of the room." she said with a nervous laugh, and left immediately.

Joan stared at her.

"I wasn't planning too..." she mumbled.

Joan set her book down-she had finished it. She then began to stare at Kelsi's bed, completely fixated on it. Where was her lovely roommate?

Kelsi was busy exploring the place. But she was back now. Nervously. "Hey! Umm, the classes start tomorrow, right?"

She looked up at her, with those creepy slitted eyes, and creeper smile. "Why yes. What are you planning to teach?"

Kelsi grinned. "Transfiguration. It's always been a personal talent of mine. And maybe along the way, some Defense Against Dark Arts."

"That's fascinating." she said softly. "I'm going to study Potions, or Charms. There's a school I want in my home country of Iceland..."

"Really? Oh, I'd love to teach at Hogwarts. It was my home school after all. If I could just see all the younger students again... I'd just be so happy."

"...Oh, I've heard about Hogwarts. One of the best, I've heard. You are lucky." Joan turned to stare at her. "The school in Iceland is really rural... they use harsh punishment. It's not a very good school. Bad things happen there..."

Kelsi frowned. "That's terrible. Last year, the Death Eaters took over our school. They used the Cruciatus curse on the students."
