Entrance Hall- NEWS BOARD

Due to certain complaints and claims, all transfer students must report to the headmaster's office on Tuesday afternoon for brief interviewing.

Fry stared at the news board with a horror-struck expression on his face. He then fled to go find Kelsi.

Eric was here, reading the news board. It was talking about detention recruitements and threat to the kids rebelling inside the school, but on the other side it was also talking about menu ideas. It was some friendly note from the House Elves in the kitchens.

"Whatcha readin'?" asked his lady friend Jessica. She wrapped her arm around his neck, like one would do if you were noogie'ing somebody.

Only, he didn't see it as a noogie. "O-oh! Just reading the news! You know, it changes every week." He said, with a slight blush.

"Ooooh, really?! I didn't know that. What's it say this week?"

"Not a lot of stuff. Apparently they need new recruits in the detentions, but no way in Hell would I do that... Imagine it, it'd be horrible! According to my friends- they got detention, and it was the worst thing they've ever experienced."

"Really?" she stared at him with her eyebrows raised. "What happened? I heard they did the Imperius charm and made you walk around the grounds acting like a lunatic or something like that."

Eric frowned. "Who told you that? No, they do so much worse! They do the Cruciatus curse on you!" He looked equally disturbed and frightened by the idea.

"WHAT?! Really? That's terrible! How could anybody do that! I mean, I heard we'd be learning that after break, but not on the detention students! And detentions are given out for... for stuff that students don't even deserve! It's unjust!" She also looked terrified, and quite worried.

"I know! It's just sick. I feel horrible, and I don't think I'll be able to do it.. It'll be too horrible."

"And you can't even skip class, or else you become the target!" Jessica went on. "Gosh, I really hope this all ENDS one day! We still have a year and a half left of school."

"Would you even want to come to school after this?" Eric whispered, still staring at the news board.

"I think they force you to."

Eric didn't reply. Instead he thought of how he didn't want to talk about this, which made him try to think of a new subject. "Umm... look," he pointed at the Kitchens news clipping. "They want food requests."

"Oh, really?! Why? The food they serve already is delicious!"

"I know! What's your favorite? Mine would probably be the mashed potatoes. I love how sometimes they leave the skin in!"

"I like their omelets the best. The stuff they put in is just PERFECT! And everything is just absolutely wonderfully spiced, and..." she began talking about all of the delicious foods at Hogwarts.

Along with Eric. And they didn't even notice how 30 minutes just shot by.

"... And that's why I wish we could just use pencils here at school."

Apparently, the comic relief character had heard about this recent posting, and naturally wasn't going to let it just slide by. Olivia marched right up to the board, shoved Eric out of the way, and scrawled "That tangy orange pudding from '94" on the signup sheet. And, after a moment of deliberation, added a small smiley face at the end. Then she tucked her quill back in her pocket and dashed off in hopes of making it to her Charms lesson on time for once in her life.

Jessica stared disapprovingly after Olivia. "Gosh, upperclassmen can be so rude!" she half-hissed. "Jeez! Are you okay? Did she hurt you at all?"

He nodded. He kind of got winded, but it didn't do much affect, considering the two were the same size. Plus, even if he HAD gotten hurt, he wouldn't have shown it. Because he had to seem manly.

"Are you sure? I hate the upperclassmen! They're such jerks." She obviously didn't seem to think that she was an upperclassman herself, and she would be top of the school the next year.

"Well, aren't you an upperclassman right this moment? I mean, we're the second oldest in the school.."

"But you and I, we're different! We're the non-jerky upperclassmen. Especially you."

He grew red again. Gosh, I have to find a way to stop this. he thought to himself, and crossed his arms. "Oh, thanks! Well, you're not horrible yourself, you know."
