Dinner?

Selia went and sat down at dinner, not eating, looking a little pale. Serenity came up to her. "Hey, what's up, Selia?"
"I got a detention."
"What did you do?!"
"I went banister sliding with Jake."
"Jake.. Which one's that?"
"Black hair.."
"Oh, the Asian kid. He's a cutie, I like him. Well, have fun getting killed. At least I won't have to cook for you anymore!"
Selia turned out even more pale.

Liv was chowing down on a salisbury steak. She thought it would be much better if there were mashed potatoes to go with it, but alas, there were none left. What a shame.

Serenity grinned. "So, is he up for grabs?"
"No!"
"You're taking him?"
"Well, no, but.."
"So I can have him?"
"Don't be a whore, Serenity!"
"I'm not a whore!"
"Yes you are! Whorewhorewhore!"
"I am not! Why are you being so grumpy?! Are you on your period, or something?"
By this time they were screaming, and Selia turned red.
"I am NOT! Why don't you go write to that boyfriend of yours?"
"Why don't you?'
"Worst comeback ever."
"Well stop saying you're going to flirt with my friends!"
"So what if I am!"
"Whore."
"Stop calling me that!" Serenity stormed off, and Selia turned around and crossed her arms.

The Great Hall grew rather quiet.

Serenity went and sat down next to Liv, and Selia.. Well, she just sat there, sitting next to nobody, wishing people would start talking again.

Liv kept on eating, ignoring this newcomer.

"What can I do about her, Liv? She's just.. horrible!" Serenity said, sighing.

"Who?" she said with her mouth full.

"Nevermind. What's up? How're you?"

"Fi'. Lemme ea'."

"Hah." Serenity said, grabbing the mashed potato bowl. But it was empty.

"LET ME EAT..." She went to get another bite, but her plate was empty, except for the gravy. "Oh. What do you want."

"Alright, it's nothing, I just wanted to talk with you."

"Oh, sure. About what?"

"I don't know! I was hoping we would think of something.."

Amanda sat at the far right end of the Hufflepuff table, cutting a piece of grilled chicken, still carrying the same blank face she had after the library.

"Well, I've got nothing."

"Yeah, bye," said Olivia after that long silence that felt like at least two whole days. And she left.

Just as Kelsi entered the hall, she felt something grab her by the shoulders and spin her around. Before she knew it, she was looking at some unfamiliar taller guy- when she realized it was her brother. "Fr- Err, what's wrong?" she asked, frowning.

"Kelsi- they're taking us all in- all the transfer students, for some interviewing. They know!" he gasped, and ran his fingers through his hair.

"W-what?! Wait, what do you mean, interviewing?! How- I don't get it."

"What's there to get, you idiot? We're fucked, oh my God... fucked." he whispered, and turned to look at the tables. Everyone was just casually eating their food. They didn't even notice Kelsi and Fry, they looked like they were having a simple- slightly frustrated conversation.

Kelsi began searching the tables. "I have to find Libby. You go get Holly, or something. Maybe if we find at least one of them, they'll be able to help."

"No! I can't talk to her!"

"Why can't you?"

"She hates me, Kelsi!" Fry cried out.

"You know what, too bad. I was thinking of going home for winter break, either way."

"What?! What about your... your problem?!"

"Shut up, Fry. I'll just drive into some deep forest and wait until morning. Hopefully nothing bad will happen."

"N-no. No. We're not giving up. You need to finish this. So do I. We'll figure something out, I know it! Hogwarts is the safest place in the world!"

"Not anymore, it happens to seem." Kelsi looked ready to cry.

Rachel sat, poking at her food. She seemed pretty full from all of the chocolate frogs she ate with Selia earlier.

Meanwhile, as Kelsi and Fry were arguing, Holly and Libby were sitting at the Ravenclaw table together, eating.

"So, how's life as a sixth-year?" Libby asked.

"Shit."

"That's optimistic!"

"Everyone hates me because I keep saying the wrong things. It's complicated. Not like you care, anyway."

"That's a lie. I do care!"

"I'll tell you later, then. How's life for you?"

"Boring... all of my friends are acting out! And I'm just trying to stay sane!" Saying this, she reached out to get the tea, but ended up knocking over the platter of peas and causing them to spill all down the table. "SHIT!"

"So much for staying sane," Holly mumbled.

"You're one to talk!"

Both of them pouted, folding their arms over their chests.

"Anyway, I suggest apologizing to everyone you pissed off," Libby started. "I'm going to sit with my friend."

Libby got up, and went down to sit with Rachel. "Hey!"

Kelsi walked away from Fry. "Listen, don't do anything reckless, okay? I'll think of something. Meantime, go fix that mess with Holly, will you?"

Fry shook his head. "I'm not talking to her.." he mumbled, and went to the Hufflepuff table to go sit next to Eric, looking totally miserable.

Kelsi sat next to Libby and Rachel. "Libby, they're going to interview all the transfers tomorrow. It was on the News board."

"WHAT? Why?" Libby stared at her, eyes wide. "That--what are they gonna ask? This is terrible!"

Kelsi nodded. "I- I can't do this anymore. I don't want to get caught." she whispered.
