Seventh Year Girls Dorm

Olivia was lying on her bed, staring with her one good eye at the winding serpent carved into the stone ceiling. "Liiiin, are you awake..."

An empty bed that would have been Lin's if she was attending Hogwarts sat beside Olivia's.

[[Dude, it's a new dorm.]]

[-w- I feel dumb]

[would be hers. she's in the camp thing right.]

Olivia sat up. "Lin?"

The only response was the quiet lapping of the chinchilla at the water bottle.

"... Must've left already." She fell back onto her pillow again and put her arm over her eyes, trying to block the green-tinted sunlight coming through the windows. "It's too early."

[[Bahaha. XD Oh well... ;w; Where IS Lin?]]

['u' I can't spoil it. And Laura's in the camp.]

"What time is it anyway?" She sat up again, trying to see the clock on the opposite wall. "Eight... thir... crap."

Olivia folded the top of the bag of chinchilla food and shut the cage door. The poor creature had started to grow her fur back, but she still looked pretty pitiful. "That food looks pretty nasty. Hope you enjoy it, though." Liv stared down at it, looking bored as usual. "Oughta give you a name, eh?" She switched from kneeling to sitting with her legs crossed, leaning against the side of her bed. "You look like a... hell, I don't know..." She looked around the dorm to see if anyone else was there she could ask for inspiration.

Millicent, as usual, was sitting on her bed, reading through her Dark Arts textbook. She found it quite fascinating.

"Oi. Millicent."

Millicent looked up from her book. "What?"

"Any ideas?"

"For what, I might ask?"

"A name. For a small non-furry animal."

"I dunno... Pelly? Margaret? Wait, is it a boy or a girl?"

"Girl."

"Uhm... Penny? Sally? Rachel? Hannah?"

"Nah..."

"I'm beat, then... Jennifer?"

"Eh... Why not." She looked back at the cage. "Jennifer."

Olivia was sitting by Jennifer's cage, watching the little animal curled-up and asleep in a corner. She couldn't remember what time they were supposed to be upstairs, so she was just taking it easy and going by whenever the others in her dorm left.

And Olivia got back to the dorm without falling into any hidden volcanos. "That was a short day," she mused.

And after much running and corner-hiding and such, Olivia made it back to the dorm without any unfortunate run-ins. Jennifer was safe and sound, huddled in the corner of her cage taking a little chinchilla snooze, surrounded by those little wood shavings. "Thank god..." Olivia murmured, reaching for the box of food stuffs. Then she remembered she had run out the day before yesterday. "... Oh, shit."
