Clock Tower Courtyard

Amanda sat silently on the same exact bench she was sitting on when she met the two annoying firsties. Memories slowing flooded back to her.

Firsties..

Amanda sighed and started at the Clock Tower that made her feel smaller than life.

Amanda stared curiously at the elegant fountain in the middle of the stone courtyard. It's glistening liquid, because the thick blue stuff in it was definately not water, stood out from the blah grayish and black stones with cracks in every visible place for more than 5 out of 7 of the stones. Its builder did a wonderful job choosing the right material and placing for it, the marble really making the courtyard. Quickly looking both ways, Amanda started to move towards the fountain, hypnotized by it's gold leaf spiral design on the top which the water spurted out from. Water was being bounced back into the fountain and not off the sides by some invisble shield, so Amanda decided to see if it were a real shield, or just for the water. She easily pushed her hand through and touched the water, then quickly let it retreat and she began to walk away. Amanda didn't want anyone she didn't see but who saw her there thinking she was desperate enough for some coins that she was fishing around a fountain for them.

As Amanda began walking away, she noticed Laura and her friends throwing water baloons at one another and confusingly stared at them for a while. So a friend is someone who tells you the truth, helps you, and has good times with you? But wait- why the he** do a bunch of sixteen year-olds have water baloons and are using them are school grounds? Amanda shrugged and walked away, seeing as it was none of her business.

Laura eyed Amanda and still holding a grudge against Serenity, and not knowing they weren't friends anymore, tossed the balloon at Amanda and hit. Amanda sighed, and began to run to the showers, shaking miserbly.

Max was off hanging out with his guy buddies and stuff.

Libby was out in the courtyard, enjoying the day and reading, hoping Max would notice her. 'Cause, she didn't really want to approach him while he was with his guy buddies. She hoped one of her friends would come along so she wouldn't seem so pathetic sitting there, alone, reading. Or Max would notice her and talk to her. Either one.

Kelsi came to fulfill Libby's hope # 1. "Hey, what's up? You waiting for Max to see you? I hope you're simply going to follow him all day."

"Shut up!" Libby giggled, and playfully hit Kelsi on the arm. "I just found him out here, and he's with his guy buddies right now. He's never anywhere without them. It'll be impossible."

Max was blissfully oblivious.

"Then go up to him." Kelsi leaned back and watched the red in the trees around them sway peacefully. She sniffed the air contently and exhaled. Fall. Such a wonderful season. Leaves swirled around their feet. Kelsi lifted her feet, and dropped them onto a few leaves. They crunched.

"And what should I say? 'Hey, Max, wanna go snog in some corridor? It'll be really fun!'?"

Kelsi laughed. "No, be like, "Hey, Max? Can I talk to you? ALONE? I don't want these idiots to hear us.""

"Thanks. HEY! MAX!" she called.

Kelsi sighed. "Duh..."

"I'll just tell him that when he gets over here," Libby mumbled.

"Call him again. Louder."

"HEY! MAAAAAX!" Libby yelled.

Kelsi sighed. "Why isn't he coming?"

"I don't know," Libby tapped her foot impatiently. "MAX!"

[I know why. Cause Rachel isn't on. ]

Max turned around and waved. "HI!"

Libby waved Max over. "C'MERE!"

Kelsi had left to leave them alone, therefor, that was why she was having dinner.

Some his guy buddies were sniggering, but Max shrugged them off and quickly jogged over. "Hey! How's it going?"

"Fine. Hey, can we talk later? In private, you know, without them watching us." She gestured to the guy buddies. "I feel like we haven't been hanging out enough lately. Maybe after dinner?"

He nodded and smiled. "Sure. After dinner's cool. And, you won't be so busy with your own "girl buddies"." he said as he glanced over to Kelsi walking off in the distance.

"Okay. Where do you want to meet? Here?"
