The New Brown House :A

After lunch, Drew asked the parental units again. "Can we please go to Diagon Alley alone? We'll all have wands, we won't split up, and if we do, we'd be with friends! And none of us would go into Knockturn Alley, and I think we're all at the responsibility age. You can't hold on to us forever."

"Not after what happened with Grace!" Mrs. Brown snapped, looking angry.

"Frau, beruhigen," Mr. Brown spoke. He tried to soothe his wife with his German speaking, and this usually won arguments. "Sie sind älter und verantwortlich. Wir haben sie gut, und nur, weil von einem Vorfall, können wir nicht folgen sie überall. Drew ist verantwortlich, und so sind Holly und Libby, und ich glaube, sie wäre in Ordnung, wenn nur ein paar Stunden."

Mrs. Brown looked a bit sad at her defeat, but she couldn't say no to eight guilt-tripping, sad eyes staring at her. She sighed.

"Fine," she finally said. "Just be extra-careful, okay? I don't think I could stand it if one of you three left, too..." she trailed off.

Amazingly, in this incident, no tears had been spilled yet. Libby, Holly, and Drew went upstairs to get changed.

Once Libby was changed into jean mid-thigh shorts, her "Periods Suck""Commas Rule" T-shirt, and she sat down by the door. She pulled her new light-blue Converse sneakers over her yellow-painted toenails, and stood up. There was a little mirror by the coat rack, and both were by the door. She brushed her pink bangs quickly to the side of her face, covering up a piercing on the right side of her face. Her parents shan't know - so far, they didn't suspect anything. She pulled her black bag off of the coat rack, and opened the door. "I'm going off to Kelsi's house!" she called. "I've got my wand, don't worry! Drew and Holly are going to come when they're ready. Bye mom, bye dad!"

She ran out of the house, and down the stairs, and off to Kelsi's house.

Once home, Libby immediately went up the stairs, dropped her stuff on the floor, and kicked open her suitcase. She slammed her door shut, and sat on her bed. She couldn't believe her brother. To - loudly - yell at Libby's friend, then just walk off? Libby had to go with him, because of the whole parent asdfadflad, and if she didn't Drew would go be asdflsdakj to the parents, and then Libby would be grounded for the next summer.

She went over to her small vanity and sat down. She examined herself - vivid hair, bright eyes, and she could see that her yearly tan had started to take place. Four ear piercings total, and a piercing in her eyebrow. And the braces, that she had gotten tightened, and the color changed to clear. She just stared at herself.

"What the f**k did you do to yourself over the past two years, Libby?" she asked the mirror. No response from the mirror. She crossed her arms over her Periods Suck shirt. "Libby, you're stupid. You're so so stupid and insane and you need to get a life and a treadmill."

She stood up, crossed the room to her window, and looked out. It was a nice summer day, with a little breeze as well. She opened up her window, and let the breeze calm her. Some thought came into her mind, to jump. But she simply closed the window, crossed her room, and went over to Drew's room.

[I felt like writing in my story but I didn't know what to write so I wrote here instead.]

Libby stormed into Drew's room. Like all of the Brown children, he was listening to a Muggle band, Avenged Sevenfold. She closed his door, crossed the mess of old clothes and spellbooks on the floor, turned off his stereo. He narrowed his eyes at her, as if to ask, "What?"

Libby crossed her arms. She was feeling PMS-y and teen angst-y. "Listen, you," she started. He raised his eyebrows in mock surprise. "I don't know why you think you can smart-mouth at my friend Rachel, and then leave so that Holly and I have to follow you, but - you can't tell Rachel to shut up! Only her friends can! And I don't think some sixteen-year-old Gryffindor who leaves his three-week-old boxers lying around and faps over Katy Perry, and constantly talks about" - [name removed for privacy, lol] - "all the time doesn't count as a friend! So, you need to shut up yourself and go masturbate to Katy Perry!"

"I thought you fapped over her," Drew said plainly.

"I like Avril Lavigne better right now. She's not a good singer, but she sure is sexy. " Libby smiled. Yeah, she didn't really mind if she was bisexual or not. "But that's not the point! You asshole, you need to stop insulting my friends, except for one, whom you think is 'cute.'"

"She is, though. "

"Stop talking about that stuff! The point is..." Libby trailed off. She wasn't good at intimidating, or ranting. She'd always end up repeating herself, or making no sense, or not intimidate at all. "You were just being an asshole in Diagon Alley!"

He looked up at her, eyes narrowed ever-so-slightly. "Do you think it's acceptable to talk to your older brother like that?"

"Oh, what are you going to do, snitch to mum and dad? Sixteen-year-olds don't tattle-tale. And do you think it's acceptable to have underwear hanging from the ceiling fan?" Libby pointed up, and indeed, there it was, dangling quite proudly.

"Go away," he mumbled. "And turn A-seven-X back on."

Libby slammed the "Play" button on his stereo, and Almost Easy began playing. It seemed louder than when she had come in. What was up with Drew? Usually he'd be holding her upside down, super-angry, or have punched her, or something else. So, she simply left, to sit in front of her mirror again.

"You're stupid. That did nothing," she told the mirror. No response from the mirror.

A few hours later, Libby was sitting in her room, packing. She already had the majority of her things in her trunk. She picked up a binder, with her first draft of her novella safely tucked inside it, and packed it last on top of everything. She then latched the trunk, and picked it up. It sure was heavy.

Libby carefully set it on the floor, then wheeled it into the hallway, and carried it by the handle downstairs. She set it by the front door with the rest of the trunks, and two empty owl cages. Without a word to her parents, she went back upstairs, and sat down at her desk. She folded her arms behind her head, and thought a bit.

I wonder what will happen this year. Maybe Max and I will get into a relationship. Maybe Drew will - . . . nah. He probably won't ask her out. Then again, he might. Anything could happen. I hope I don't lose that bet. If I do . . . I don't know what I'll do. I'm not exactly the bravest person ever.

Libby, feeling like going to bed early, turned off her light, and crawled into her bed. She didn't bother changing into her pajamas.

As soon as she threw her trunk onto her bed, instead of unpacking, Libby closed her bedroom door and changed into a simple white two-piece bathing suit. She dug some flip-flops out of the back of her closet, slid them on, and pulled her hair back in a clip. Libby opened her door, ran out of her room, and shot down the stairs, jumping the last three.

"I'MMA GOING TO THE BEACH!" she yelled through the house. Before waiting for an answer, she threw the door open and ran out of the house. To the beach.

CAUSE IT WAS FINALLY SUMMER, WOOT.

Selia skipped down the sidewalk, knocking on the Brown's front door loudly, and putting her gray track bag down again.

Drew answered the door. He looked... quite bored indeed. "Yeah?" he asked.

Selia frowned. "Is Holly here? Even if she isn't, I need to use your fireplace really fast. May I? Thank you!" She ran past him into the house.

He grabbed her shirt collar. "What do you need the fireplace for, munchkin? Holly's already gone."
