A Private Corner...

Karin led Eric to this private corner. She than pulled out a cloak, and laid it down on the ground, as if it were a picnic blanket. "Sit down," she said as she did so herself.

Eric felt odd. But still, he sat down next to her.
"So,"

"All right, now you explain."

"Erm... Well..." So, he began to explain.
"My parents are both wizards, but my mother is muggle-born. When they had me- by accident, they never wanted a child. Well, they hated me. I took up too much of their precious time. It grew on. When I was a baby, they never really fed me or took much care of me. But, I learned to take care of me. Soon, they wanted me to work more, so every night when they came home from work I would have to make dinner. If I messed up- which I did often, they would... beat me... and... When I started school, it turned out I had a learning disability. Man, they never were so mad. It spent more money, and took away more of their precious time. They emotionally, and physically abused me. And there was nothing I could do. When I started Hogwarts, it was heaven for me. I was so happy. And, even if it was a break from them, I knew they'd want me to do good. So of course I still work as hard as I want not to... to... you know. There's not much more I can say, Karin."

Karin was quiet for a few minutes, taking it all in. She looked like she was very upset. "That's horrible..." she didn't say anything more, and was quiet again for a few minutes.

Eric clenched and unclenched his fists.
"Let's just change subject, ok?" he forced a smile.
"What did you do for Holiday break?"

"Oh, nothing really. I just hung around at the castle." She than laughed. "Can you believe this? My sister, she got probably over a hundred porn pictures of the guy she likes. Even from people she doesn't know!"

"Ok, that's just weird." He nervous-laughed.

"Yeah, she's really weird. She's overly-obsessed with this guy, I think his name is Nicolas or something, he's in your house I think. But anyway, and she watches anime, which isn't that weird because there are some things I like of it like this one series called Chibi Vampire, but she COSPLAYS, or dresses up as them, one time I saw her all dressed it up, and it was weird."

Karin said this all very fast.

Eric laughed.
"Weird. And I've heard about Nicolas. He's a bit of a freak..."

"Yes, exactly. That is why they go great together." She shook her head. "Sometimes I feel like the big sister, she's more immature than I am."

"It's often like that. I think. I'm not sure, I never had any siblings."

"Oh, there really annoying, but I guess you can't live without them. Sometimes Rachel does some funny stuff, and oh man." Karin laughed.

Eric laughed, a bit more comfortable.
"Yeah, I suppose."

"Anyway, uh..." Karin thought for a minute of what to ask. "Do you have any hobbies?" she asked him.

"No, not really. See, I read. But I've always struggled with that..."

"You need a hobby. And, readings fun and all, but you need a hobby, it makes life fun." she said giving him the thumbs up.

"Like what?" Eric asked, side-glancing Karin.

"I dunno, do you like Quidditch? Maybe you could play. Who knows, you might really good at it, you just don't realize it."

Eric grinned bashfully.
"I could try out next year, you're right. Did you join in?"

"Nah, I'm not much of a Quidditch person... never really been into sports. But, usually over the summer I do theatre programs and stuff..." Karin stared up at the ceiling, and got a dreamy look on her face.

"That sounds neat. What plays do you usually do?"

"Musicals," Karin smiled even more. "I love to sing, and act too, so it's combining two of some of my favorite things..."

"That's great, Karin. You know, you could make a career out of that. I dunno, you might want to aim for something more wizard-y?"

"Actually," said Karin grinning. "It's my dream to perform on West End in London. I know it's very magical-y, but I believe it's my passion. I would love to act for a living."
